Dr Mac graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland in 1978. The degree awarded by that college is the MVB which is latin for DVM. The MRCVS is Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
After graduation he worked in several practices in Ireland and England in both large and small animal practices. These practices were very much along the lines of All creatures great and small. The experiences gained in these practices led to a love of traveling and dealing with people and their pets in a less stressed home environment.
Arriving in the US in 1981, some additional studies were required to attain licensure in New York. When that was settled he worked in an Animal hospital until 1989. At that time the call of the road was answered and the Home Visit Veterinarian started delivering in home pet care to the local area.
Dr Mac is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York and the Long Island Veterinary Medical Associations also The American Association of Housecall Veterinarians. He regularly attends continuing education lectures and conferences, to keep up with the ever changing world of high quality veterinary medicine.
